That was our last live participation. But the Games were still not over.
For the Paralympics, the public French TV had set up their stage opposite the Arc de Triomphe which sported the Agios, the Paralympics symbol. Of course I had to go and check it out.
Then finally, the Closing Ceremony officially ended the Games. Or did it?
No! Partnering with Los Angeles public transport, the Paris transport company renamed six stations for a few days, as did Los Angeles. “Downtown Santa Monica” became “Saint Germain des Prés”, and “Saint Michel” was “Santa Monica”. One of my stations, “Malesherbes”, suddenly was “Malibu”.
